Location
Ideal wilderness setting for your retreat or hunting lodge! In the heart of the beautiful Canadian Shield area with its myriad forests, lakes and streams and surrounded on three sides by Crown Land, this half-mile square property offers all the solitude, nature and recreational possibilities one could want, yet has easy access to modern amenities just 10 miles away.

Directions
There are two alternate routes you can take to the property, both are correct. You can travel hwy 67 heading South from Hwy 11 or heading North from Hwy 101. If you are heading North from Toronto via highway 11 you will come through Matheson. Approximately 4 to 5 kilometres from Matheson, Hwy 11 and Hwy 101 split. If you choose to take Hwy 101 you will travel approximately 30 km and reach the south end of Hwy 67, also known as Municipal Road. If you choose to stay on Hwy 11 and travel approximately 30 km you will reach the North end of Hwy 67 just before Porquis Junction. A provincial map will clearly show this. Your property sits just South of Frederick House Lake, East of the Frederick House River and West of Barbers Bay. Turn on Charland Lake Road, on the west side of Hwy 67. Your property is just behind the Charland Lake..
Crown Land
About 14,000 acres of Crown Land surround the property on three sides: north, east and south. About 3 km away, adjacent to Fredrick House Lake, is a vast expanse of Crown Land which extends for thousands of square miles, as far as James Bay. All this Crown Land is yours to use as if it was your own for recreational purposes such as camping, fishing, hunting, hiking, and canoeing.
Terrain & Vegetation
Lots of trees and bush remain on this property after recent harvesting. The fairly flat terrain is excellent for camping, hunting photography and relaxation. Black bear, moose, rabbit, beaver and other wildlife are plentiful. A marshy pond teaming with waterbirds and attracting mammals, lies only about 20 metres north of the property on Crown Land. The surrounding countryside is full of streams and lakes of all sizes, ideal for fishing and water sports.
Wildlife
Close to Frederick House River, this is a good area for Moose. Just south east of the property, about 5 km away off Hwy 101 is Gibson Lake Road, which gives access to forests in Wildlife Management Unit #29, with excellent moose concentrations south of Gibson Lake along the Nighthawk and Whitefish Rivers.
Recreational Potential
As a retreat for relaxation, or a hunting lodge, this location is ideal with its immediate access to many thousands of acres of Crown Land in the Canadian
Shield. Canoeing is available at nearby Fredrick House Lake, and angling for
countless species of fish is available in the myriad lakes and streams. Other possibilities are hunting (bear & moose), camping, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, or just relaxing and taking in the Northern Lights. Minutes away to the southeast is Kettle Lakes Provincial Park, also full of recreational options such as hiking, fishing, and canoeing. Yet proximity to Highway 11 and the city of Timmins less than 10 miles away, makes supplies, entertainment, and emergency services easily available.
