Location
The property is a rectangular parcel of land approximately 313 feet wide by 2,640 feet deep. It is located about 1.5 miles north of the settlement of Kearney, which is about 20 miles north of Huntsville by highway. This 19 acre parcel has recently been surveyed. (The front corners have been surveyed and iron posts are in the ground).
Directions & Road Access
From Highway 11 at Emsdale, turn east along Highway 518 and proceed about 1 km past Kearney to Cherry Hill Rd.. Turn left (west) along Cherry Hill Rd. and proceed about 3 km to the Armour/Perry Township Line, where the road takes a right angle to the left. A 3-season road suitable for 4 wheel drive vehicles follows the Township Line to the right. Follow this road about 1.5 km to the northwest corner of the property.
There is approximately 400 metres of unopened road allowance. Opening this road allowance is available upon application from the Town of Kearney.
Topography & Terrain
This is part of Ontario’s Canadian Shield, a rugged forested tract of rocky hills crisscrossed with numerous streams and lakes. Here the forest is a mixture of mostly balsam and black spruce, with some sugar maples. The terrain slopes downward from east to west.
The property is surrounded by private land except for the north side, which bounds Crown Land approximately 600 acres in size. But this parcel is attached to an even larger tract of Crown Land extending in an irregular configuration for thousands of acres, mostly to the north, where it continues through many townships all the way to Hudson Bay. This Crown Land tract is also connected to the nearby Chain Lakes Conservation Reserve and to Algonquin Park.

This parcel is located in Ontario’s Playground, within 3 hours drive from the Greater Toronto Area. Bethune (a.k.a.
