Thunder Bay District

Beautiful lakes, unmatched camping and canoeing country, superb fishing and hunting will beckon you to this great northwest country for outdoor adventure. The district includes the spectcular Nipigon forest with its glorious scenery. Moose, black bear, deer, partridge and rabbits are in an incredible abundance throughout the district. In no time the average fisherman can catch his limit in speckled trout, pike, walleye, black bass, sturgeon and lake trout. Numerous "lunker" fish are to be found everywhere, daring the angler to fight.

This area is now more accessible than ever with new roads and bridges. Trans Canada Highway No. 17 is centred around the City of Thunder Bay. This modern city is on the main lines of the Canadian National Pacific Railway, Air Canada, Transair and North Central lines. There is an excellent international highway from Duluth, Minnesota which crosses the border at Pigeon River, 40 miles south of Thunder Bay.
