Location

The property is trapezoidal in shape. The west side is bounded by Highway 11, a frontage of 924.55 feet, and the east side is bounded by the Ontario Northland Railway.

Directions

From Kirkland Lake, take Highway 66 west to Highway 11. Turn right (north) onto Highway 11 and continue about 14 kilometres to the intersection of Highways 11 and 570 (Highway 570 leads east to Sesekinika). Continue north on Highway 11 about 1.2 kilometres. The property is on the east side of Highway 11 at this point. There is good vehicular access directly onto the property off Highway 11.

Crown Land

In excess of 1,000,000 acres crown land abutting the property.

To the north is a sliver of Crown Land between the highway and the railway, and to the south is a patch of Crown Land about 90 acres in size. West of the highway and east of the railway are vast expanses of Crown Land which extend for hundreds of thousands of square kilometres, as far as James Bay.

Timber & Mineral Rights

Timber and mineral rights come with the property. The vendor will retain a 2.5% net smelter return should a mine be located and precious metals are produced and derived from this property.

Terrain & Vegetation

This property is fairly flat and wooded, with the surface being a mixture of sand, clay and rocky outcrops. A tributary of the Whiteclay River is a few metres northwest, as is Swan Lake. Sesekinika Lake is a few minutes south.

Recreational Potential

This property is a great spot for an outdoors lover who wants to have a retreat which is at once remote and road-accessible year-round. The surrounding Crown Land set in the Canadian Shield is full of rivers, lakes, and forests teeming with wildlife. For bear, duck, and moose hunting this location is perfect, and water activities such as fishing and canoeing are immediately accessible.

For modern conveniences, Sesekinika is minutes away, and the much larger Kirkland Lake (population about 8,500) is about 25 kilometres distant. Here we can find an OPP station, an office of the Ministry of Natural resources, the Museum of Northern History, financial institutions, Tim Horton’s, shopping, and modern medical facilities including Kirkland Lake District Hospital.
